7 Signs Your Website Is Costing You Customers
Before spending more to get people to your site, make sure the site is not quietly turning them away. These are the issues we find most often in audits.
1. It takes more than three seconds to load on mobile
Oversized images and heavy scripts are the usual culprits. Every additional second of load time measurably reduces conversions.
2. Your phone number is hard to find
On mobile it should be visible without scrolling and tappable to dial. Burying it on a contact page adds friction at the exact moment someone is ready to act.
3. The headline describes you instead of the visitor
'Welcome to our website' says nothing. A visitor should know what you do, who you do it for, and what to do next within five seconds.
4. Every service lives on one page
It hurts both search visibility and clarity. Give each service its own page with its own proof and its own call to action.
5. There is no proof anywhere
Reviews, results, credentials, and recognizable client names do more for conversion than another paragraph of copy.
6. Your forms ask for too much
Every extra field costs you submissions. Ask for the minimum you need to start a conversation and collect the rest later.
7. You cannot tell what is working
Without conversion tracking, analytics, and call tracking, you are optimizing blind. Set it up before the next campaign, not after.
Fix these in order of effort and impact. Most of them are a day of work and pay for themselves in the first month.
